At Therapy Solutions, our therapists can provide expert care regarding cancer rehabilitation and lymphedema management to improve your quality of life. Being diagnosed with cancer can be exhausting and confusing. One day you were fine, the next day you are in your physician’s office talking about your future plans to tackle a serious hardship.

With extensive education and training regarding proper exercise and nutrition guidelines, treatment side effects, and possible emotional trauma from the experience, our staff can help you and your family navigate the many questions you may have.

Side effects of treatment that Therapy Solutions can help mitigate:

  • Generalized weakness and fatigue

Along with the above mentioned, people with a cancer diagnosis may experience lymphedema from blocked or removed lymph vessels due to surgeries or radiation treatment. Lymphedema is swelling mostly found in the arms or legs but can be experienced in the trunk/abdomen region. Other symptoms of lymphedema include heaviness in a limb, pain, infections, weakness, and/or loss of range of motion.

Our staff is highly trained in reducing the effects of lymphedema in order to improve your quality of life. Treatments include:

  • Exercise
  • Heart rate variability training
  • Nutritional education
  • Teaching you and your family how to perform self-manual lymphatic drainage
  • Wrapping and/or bandaging
  • Compression garment measuring and fitting
  • Myofascial release
  • Skin care routine

These services can be given during and/or after cancer treatment. Our staff will do their best to work with you, your family, and your physicians in order to make a treatment plan of care that best serves your needs and wants.
